| SOFIA BESTUJEVA Sofia was born in Moscow, Russia. She graduated from Moscow University in 2005. She is a member of the Russian Professional Union of Artists. In 2007 Sofia became the finalist in illustrators’ competition “The Artists of a Cherished Dream” ("Hudojniki zavetnoi mechty"). She was among the finalists in “C-Arts” project (Cards). Exhibitions: 2008- “QuickPics” (Saint-Petersburg) 2007- Charity exhibition-auction “Art for Children” (Moscow) 2005- Spring of Hopes (Moscow, Russia) 2004- Attention! Beauty! (Moscow, Russia) 2003- Exhibition of Students’ work in Sokolniki (Moscow, Russia) “I am interested in different forms of visual arts: ceramic, batik. But graphic art is my favorite. Though there is a lot of fantasy in my works they all are based on real events from my everyday life. My drawings express my deepest feelings and emotions. Nothing is accidental in my works. I like to use symbols and objects that have hidden sense and mystery…” |
